Themes and Variations – A New Journey

Well, I finally did it. I registered and today, have started the process of setting up a blog called, “Themes & Variations” -‘Thoughts on music, religion & life with the best musical performances in the world’. I figured with 25 years of scripts behind me, and thousands of musical performances in my head, I should start posting some of my ideas using YouTube examples from the very best the world has to offer. So if you enjoyed my hundreds of theme hours of the past…..stay tuned. Your choir or musical group may be featured and tweeted!

These postings will feature topics like ‘Women Who Rule’; ‘Music & Fairy Tales’; ‘Music in the Movies’; ‘The Life of Dracula’ or ‘How Church and Music have changed over the past half century’. What they will have in common is a story highlighted by great music that is free on YouTube.

What got me excited about this, is a personal connection. Composer, Sergey Khvoshchinsky heard my choir Cantores Celestes on YouTube and tracked me down to give the world premiere of his work ‘Dona Nobis’ I am a believer in new media and will play it forward by highlighting your music as well!

As this is my first posting though – A bit of self indulgence.
